Hey shallowsport let's see if I can help you out a little...

The three lures you have that represent a fish are Humps made by Earl Humphrey's in El Campo. The shrimp lure is a Pluggin Shorty shrimp that was made by Doug English, the "Bingo" guy.
At least that's what they look like to me Very Happy

gulftrout is a big time collector, he know alot about them and the manufacturers time and location.

You sure have kept them in good shape Very Happy

You are pretty much correct, with one exception. The white Hump lure was made in Houston by Bingo Baits. Any Hump Lure made in El Campo would have the color code on the lure, example Hump M-15. The HUMP Lures made by Bingo Baits in Houston just have the word HUMP printed on the side in capital letters with no color code. I think there are only 10 or so different colors of Hump lures that were made in Houston. The Hump Lures made in El Campo by Earl Humphries all had model and color codes printed on the lures so fishermen would know exactly which lure that was doing all the catching that day. There are four models "M" for "Mighty Minnow", "F" for "Flash Minnow, "A" for "Chubby Minnow" and SM for "Mighty Midget". The El Campo Humps came in many color combinations which were numbered from 0-20 for a period of time. At some point he added additional colors that were coded 21X, 22X, 23X, 24X and 25X. At some point h made five striped lures called Tigers. I hope this helps, but probably just seems confusing to most, especially me! Laughing I almost forgot in the later years there was a "28" color code that is almost impossible to find and I have never had my hands on one. There were also a couple others like "NEW-8" and "OLD-9".

These are all the colors made in El Campo with the exception of a 28 color and the "Tigers".

Correct. Those lures might be older than I am but my Dad's a big collector and I would always be the one in charge of sorting through tackle boxes that he bought from grage sales.

Well crap I almost got it right, leave it to someone in Houston to mess it all up.

I've been collecting PICO Perch but made in Corpus Christi only. Found some new in the box with paperwork the other day.

The lures pictured for sale on craigslist are the later Houston ones and very collectable. I bought a few Houston Bingo's from Bob Blanchard(The Bob selling these lures) back in 2001. At that time he was located in the New Orleans area. Nice guy and a quick shipper if anyone is thinking about buying these lures for sale on Craigslist. Smile

Nice lures especially the Rootbeer Bingo Flash pictured on the top right. At this time that one just might bring $200.00+ on ebay, if the right two or three guys do not have that color. But then again it may only go for $25.00, no way to know for sure. That green one in the middle with the yellow dots is an early "Hogie" hard plastic lure that was also made in El Campo.

I got a few off ebay. I'm not collecting but it is nice to have a piece of the past for folks to look at to see the real thing. Kinda like have an old gun , or an old reel, tool, just something from the past. The Bingo was the first lure I ever used as a kid, i guess 40 years ago.
