Last trip was in November. The wife and I had cabin fever, the wife suggested fishing. Got Friday off, headed down Thursday after work. First time fishing the rocks in January. No signs of bait in the water. Hit all our normal spot nothing. Fished 7am until 2pm only managed two small sheephead & a ray. Tried new areas with no luck. Don't know if it was the tides, water temp or what. A friend of mine camped Friday. He said the bite didn't get started til after 8pm. Worked hard at the end for five soild trout and one red. Saturday we changed it up run & gun. Didn't stay in one spot for more than 30mins. Third move found sheephead, caught over thirty fish only five keepers. Still have fish in freezer so let them go. Soaked live mullet & mud minnows on he surf side, nothing. Got to spend quality time with the wife and broke in the new camera.
Going to try again in February when the water warms up. Here's some pic of our trip.
Sunrise Friday.

Beautiful! There is so much more to a fishing trip than just catching fish! I really enjoyed the pictures and they look great with the new camera. Thanks so much for your report! |
