Planning on going to Corpus Christi the weekend before new year. Although might not have a whole lot of time fishing, will try to cast for a little bit just for fun, near People's T-head and maybe bob hall pier as well. What fish can I catch in this season from the shore(pier, jetty, marina, etc)? I heard people catching sheephead, flounder and whitings. What is the basic technique and set-up of catching these type of fish?
This guy gave me some tips, not sure if they are helpful
Sheephead: float, use small crab as bait
Flounder: 1/8 jighead with Berkeley gulp, cast out and reel back in. |

| If the surf is less than 3 feet and the water is green you can catch Pomps from the beach or BHP using peeled shrimp and fishbites. You can also catch Blues in the surf using cut bait but it has to be pretty clear. If the surf is to rough, then fish for trout anywhere the water is fairly deep. Kinda hard to get to the good spot without a boat. |

| Sounds like you're going to be in old downtown CC. You might want to try the rocks both around the bulkheads and the Lexington . When it's cold the fish will stack up near the walls & rocks. |
