Today I went out with a good friend of mine and his pops who came in from San Antonio for the day, we got out to the jetties at 5am, and it was a bit chilly. We were able to catch plenty of mullet in the surf, most were pretty big, but we had a few finger mullet as well. Once the sun came up the weather was absolutely beautiful, the sunrise was amazing, and once the sun rose the wind died down and warmed up slightly. We were using live mullet at first but nothing seemed to be interested, so we started using cut mullet and that did the trick, with the first cast out, I saw a nice take on my line, so I walked over and picked up my rod and something big was on it, it seems like it didnt want to move, i thought maybe it had gotten stuck, but thats when the big boy started fighting, it was a solid red, but after a nice fight i get him to the rocks only to have a big wave crash and push the red in to the rocks, and snap... just like that it was gone. i was devastated that was the second bull i lost in the past week and a half, lost one last thursday. I didnt think i was going to get another chance, but i was wrong. about an hour and a half later i got another hit on my rod, this time i was determined not to lose what was on the end of my line, i walked over picked up my rod and the fight was on, and to my amazment another red, after a good fight up and down the side of the jetty, i got him to the rocks and with the help of my friend and his dad we were able to land my FIRST BULL RED!!!! it was an amazing feeling. it was 36in on the dot, which makes it a personal best. well thats it for my first report. till next time, tight lines

Darn! I hate these mystery posts. Just like a joke without a punchline.

Hope he comes back and just adds what is missing.. Sad
