Stopped at a garage sale this afternoon. And came across a very clean none corroded Pen. 109!
This little reel look and feels very sturdy! Even sturdier than my AB 5-6000's

Anyone know how strong the drag is relative to others it's size?

Planning on loading it up with 30lb braid and making it a red/trout bottom fishing bay rod.

Anyone have one that can comment on its use...?

like all penn reels , its a good lil reel , will be able
to handle what you're looking to fish for , i've got 2
layin around, my old man got em when i was a kid ,
only thing i didn't like was the " spinning handle "
when you cast , hope this helps
