This is the question my twin grandsons asked me yesterday. We caught some mullet off the dock and put it in a trash can I have hang over the side of the dock to keep bait alive or crabs or whatever.
Yesterday they wanted to look at all the mullet we caught the day before which numbered about 30. I pull the trash can up out of the water and they were only about two or three left in the bottom of the bucket. Where'd all the mullet go Grandpa? Turns out that I've got two resident Birds hanging around my house always looking for handouts when I come back fishing . 1 Egret, named Frasier Crane, and one heron named Harry.
We couldn't figure out what happened to the mullet until boys wanted to get warm and jump in the hot tub. While I was sitting there with them we looked out to the dock and there was the Heron propped on the side of the trashcan helping himself to all the mullet down inside. I didn't realize I had set up a buffet table for my resident cranes. Pretty funny |

Those mullet can put up a pretty good fight on (light) tackle caught off the dock--small hook, and we used bits of leftover BBQ meat--great fun for young kids! _________________ <*)))>< I'd rather be fishing-The wife shopping!! ><(((*> |

| Just replaced the screen on my back door so I'm going to Bungie the old screen over the top of the trash can. |

They're only residents until they have no more food supply. Kinda like lingering relatives during the holidays.
But I wouldn't blame you for not cutting them off entirely. Beautiful birds. _________________ All things will pass. Have a Blessed day. |

Good mystery
It does appear that grandsons have work to do when they show up.
More fishing at the end of the dock. Refill can please. Of course Grandpa needs to supervise! |

Took my little netters out after lunch today when it warmed up a little bit. At first I was throwing Tequila and not having much luck. Switched to pink and then purple and picked up one or two here and there. Little guys were not having to be very active with the net. And then I switched to chartreuse and it was one right after the other. They had a blast netting a bunch of drinks and keepers and releasing them for me. But they really got excited when they saw this 23in come up to the net.
