Im sure this question comes out often, and I did search and found some info, I have a shimano curado 200dhsc 7:1 and the thumb release mechanism is not releasing/engaging so am not able to cast out. I have been working in the valley last year and its been in storage and finally have a chance of using it and I find this problem, so who is good to take it to from below or is there someone else
I know roys bait and tackle, but I hear turnaround and price can be on high side.
I also seen a John Chaney mentioned out in annaville is there a address for his shop?
and also a Tackle town out in rockport
who would be most reasonable as far as price goes
thanks ed |

1854 Tuloso Rd. His house is on the corner, go around to the side of his house, you will see the entrance to his shop. 241-5126. Excellent worko and super quick turnaround. He gets my number 1 recommendation!
Oh and price wise, John will be the best on that also. |

John Chaney is your man! If you tell him you need it pretty quick, short of parts replacement, he will likely have it the next day! _________________ Wishin I was fishin!

Tim at the Billmore Hdwre in Port A has done a good job for me on reels.
One got pulled in water before I could grab it when I was 5-ft from it. We used a huge treble hook and snagged it and the rod.
Tom tok it apart, lubed, etc. He also cleaned and lubed others. Price was extremely reasonable. Tim does some offshore reels for deep sea customers. Some of the reels probably cost more than a used pickup truck. If those captains trust Tim, that's good to know.
I took Tim my Finor Ahabs (after Roys said "no" since they were the original ones from the 1980's). Tim advised me never to sell them but to pass them down to heirs after he worked on them. It was his first experience with Ahab, and he was impressed with the machined stainless gears, etc.
He also is personable and a wealth of information. If you have the time, watch and listen as he works. |
