We had them on the trailer for the airboat at UTMSI, and yes, it make the boat slip right off. But then, with the lack of a reverse, you HAD to have them!! Never gave it much thought about using them for a powerboat. Don't see any reason why it would be a bad thing....

I tried the strips and really didn't care for them, they were damaging my gel coat.. I have been told that spraying your boards with a silicone spray makes a big difference, good luck.

Not only do they help your boat slide off. They also help protect the bottom of your boat...paint doesn't rub off. I will be putting them on mine soon.

I've heard Gel-coat..NO Aluminum..YES

I had them for the ol' Baymaster. I painted the hull. The Strips would pulled off paint. I think they are actually High Density Poly-urethane Plastic or something like that Embarassed Laughing

I would go with what Shotgun said.

Had them on the old trailer for my 19 stoner for many years. They will mark/scratch your gelcoat somewhat, but not to the point of serious damage. Spraying the carpet with silicone spray will definitely make your boat slide off easier! I nearly launched the Stoner on the concrete once a few years back when I did it!!
