Hey guys.....I am planning on going to the Packery Channel to do some fishing this weekend. I have heard way too many good reviews lately so I am pumped... Smile

Do you need a beach permit to park and fish there?
And if so, where do you get one? And do they have one for year round and how much?

Technically you need one , but the only time ive ever seen anyone check parking permits is spring break

The few times I've been out there they have crept up to inspect my vehicle. They do check. 12 bucks is way better then the fine you'd have to pay if your caught without one.

Not EVERY Stripes sells them. Good rule of thumb is, if it's on SPID or the Island, they sell them.

The alternative is $150.00 fine for parking without one, and yes, they do check.... Often.

. I have been checked several times this year. Last year it slipped my mind, fortunately I saw him checking so I went to talk to him. He let me purchase it right then and there so no ticket.

I was there yesterday and the stripes on the left side if you are headed to pins was out and will not have any until next year. The smaller one across the street had them though. And I agree get one because its $12.00 now but a hell of a lot more if you get fined.

I think any HEB around here sells them at the customer service counter
