Made it to SBH just before noon, went down a few miles. Water was very calm. Visibility was very good. Water was slightly cool, but warmed up. Weed was present on the bars, but was mostly broken up and not a problem. Driving was a breeze. Tides must have packed the beach good. Soaked cut bait, gulp shrimp and fishbites. Caught the usual trash suspects, hardhead, skippies, pinfish and whiting. Caught two very large whiting, about 18 inches. Did have something make a good run but did not get hooked. No mullet present. Did see a bunch of shad jumping out of the water away from something. Here's a couple of pics of the surf.

It sure got rough by 6:30p. Went out to south Packery and it was blowing hard and the surf was getting big. Way too big to fish the surf side. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

| thanks Tyler, all I could think about today was the calm surf, you just made my night by letting me know it would've been rough when I got there anyway |

I might have passed you down there... I was in a maroon tacoma with a rock rack and a kayak rack... Did you see this? I mean how could you miss it LOL.
I turned around to take some pics of this trashed, abandoned camp, and as I was driving back torwards Bob Hall, some dude ran out from the dunes about 100 yards away from that mess flicking me off and cussing me out. I had no idea what it was about... Anyways I was just disappointed how people literally trash our beaches...
Thanks for the report! |
