Question for anybody that's been down to the cut in the last few days...is water still crappy brown?? How about 9 mile hole?? Foolishly hoping south winds are pumping some better water up the cut. Thanks guys.

I guess I was delusional or just thinking in non-brown tide train of thought to hope SE wind would blow up some better water...may give it a try anyways.

I haven't heard of it in 9 mile hole. Its miles away but northern part of port Mansfield to the land cut was good. Baffin to pure oil not so much. KRS looked like tea.
Good luck

Wow, that is a bummer, I have a floating cabin rented in the land cut in 2 weeks...hopefully we will catch some fish. So, the brown tide just makes the water murky and doesn't kill fish or bait?

Im no expert but as far as I can tell the fish are still around and feeding but lures are much less effective and you may need to switch to live bait. Saturday and Sunday I couldnt get a bite on a gold spoon in areas that have recently been almost guaranteed reds. Switched to cut bait and gulps under popping cork and started catching the reds again.

I talked to the owner of the cabin and he said they have been catching lots of trout under the lights...I guess I will find out soon. Thanks for the info!!! When I get back I will post a report.

Clear, green, murky, still have to match the hatch, because the fish are still going to get hungry (don't we all). Good luck.

I went to 10 and fished it Friday. I was there two weeks ago and it was crappy and appeared as though BT was part of the problem. On Friday it looked good and didn't get ugly until the wind/current churned it up. I also found really good water in Rocky s that again got ugly only after the 25mph wind hammered it. Frankly I was surprised given how BT has moved from Bird to 37 in the same period of time. I don't know if what i saw is temporary or not but the cut looked fine except for when the wind got it

I fished Landcut today and water was not bad given the wind...that said we only caught 1 trout all morning in the cut.

Went down weekend before last and have never seen the water in the cut so bad. From the mouth on the north end at least to the 20. The wake and foam were even a nasty brown. Caught one trout and ended up dumping the bait and heading in early.
