Hit north of Packery this morning throwing a top water. One of the best surf trout fishing trips ever. I landed 5 very nice trout in a matter of minutes and then.......

Guess I'm done for the day, or at least the morning Very Happy

I am having coffee waiting for the minor emergency clinic to open. I was going to try to do the fishing line removal method but this thing is in solid. It will not move. I think the point is in some bone, but there is no pain at all which is kinda weird.

Yep hooked a really big trout. I had her on for about five seconds and she came up for a head shake and threw the lure. It was headed for my face so I stuck my hands up to block the lure. It was early so I did not have my glasses on yet. Better my finger than an eye.

thats pretty seriously unlucky...
i keep surgical scissors for this reason.. sometimes you can cut the skin on the barb side of the hook and get it out, thats a bad one though...probably should go see the Doc.
i had a 20pound tigerfish in africa do the same thing, i was trying to land it, when it threw my rig (including a 2once weight) strait at my head, hit me square between the eyes..i thought it cracked my skull... Embarassed

Oooouuucchhh. I had one a few weeks ago when trying to handle a nice trout with my mirro lure in its mouth. The fish shook real hard, hooked my finger and then I lost my grip. The thrashing continued while I held my hand out and did a dance. She pulled that one out herself.

Anyway sorry to hear. Hope the removal goes well. May have to hit the surf before the weekend ends.

That pic was right before I cut the treble off the top water. They ended up having to cut it out and only needed one stitch. Probably going to have to swap to a spinning set up for a few days.
