Got off work in time to do some fishin. Called up my buddy and off we went to try a new area. Made it out there around 4. Wanted to get some croaker but we were on a tight schedule so we decided to just throw some lures, he had to get back to see the ole lady Rolling Eyes . Right off the bat we found some tailing reds but they didnt want what we had to offer. Kept getting some good hits and then finally after about an hour my buddy caught a decent flounder (17"). A little later I landed an undersized red. Right before we were about to leave he hooks into something good. We thought it was a red, got in close and I saw the specs when she shook her head. TROUT!! Thought it was a little bigger but she still went 26". Ended the day on a good note.

Went back solo in the morning with my yak. The wind was dead calm (too calm) and the tide was slack. I was sweating my arse off. Caught one undersize red early in the morning but that was it. I was thinking about calling it a day and then the wind picked up a little (just right) and the tide started moving so I looked at my map found a little area close by I wanted to try. It was like somebody turned on a switch. Caught 4 keepers along with some dinks. Hooked into a nice one that went 23". Went back to the truck to meet my buddy and put the fish on ice as they were getting hot. He went back out with me and I put 4 more on the stringer and he couldn't catch a cold. Had to work that night so I packed it in.
