Does anyone know how busy these two piers get on Friday and Saturday nights? I am think of going out this weekend and taking the wife and kid. Don't want to hassle with the drive if it will be too busy to fish.

Busy i will say that...youll have to go early to hope for a spot...
i quit fishing the piers on weekends because of the crews that go every now and then and drink and have no sense of personal space....
a lot of times i would be out on the corner of the pier, take a rod out to re rig it and a idiot would walk over cast out and put in the rod holder...then walk away down the pier to where he set up its ridiculous....
sometimes people like that aren't there and its a fun time but just a guessing game... _________________

I agree with AT. Its just not worth the hassle dealing with idiots. There is some descent shoreline fishing west of rivera pier. Find you a spot and set up and enjoy. Same for Kaufer park pier. Good shoreline fishing across the bait bridge.

Ive been out there about three times. i've heard of people limiting out there at night, but i usually come home with one or two keeper drums. Its good to take out your family, with the parks being around it.
