Warning: the following report contains a exciting fishing adventure do not read if you are at work or there is a lightning storm outside! A/T is not liable for injuries you receive from attempting to recreate this adventure...unless you catch then its totally my fault

Well i was holding back on the reports so i could just mash them together as one...

Between studying for finals and other random honey-do's i made it out a few times trying to finish april strong in kayak wars and get may started...

I had a few friends join these trips one of which included the always a skeptic of my advice Mr. Wildman himself...

still being april i needed 13 more drum ...didnt get it done =/ not being able to fish nights thanks to a parking situation forced me to fish the day shift which i HATE doing for drum

1. slow bite
2. sunburn =/

Im currently packing for el paso ill be back towards the end of may to cut it close for this months points

anyways off to the report!

the first trip didnt have much action just a few drum it was pretty slow but i got to show around a buddy who just got a kayak so it was a decent day..

I did lose several big trout thanks to head shakes and posts underwater cutting my lines...

next trip

Am Sunrise..you can tell the water is moving a good bit for being the morning..it was already pretty freaking windy out there..

Looked at the water and said "ehhh im in Team oso i got this" hardcore is what we do *shout out to spots his monster trout was a beast*

The paddle over was pretty decent...kind of figured the overcast would leave but wouldnt you know it..we got rained on =/

Beached up to see waterlevels and pick where we would be fishing...

wildman got distracted by a little bug..sooo of course i joined and tested out the macro on my camera..cooolio

after a good bit of rain it finally died and things started to bite..

hardhead and mini drum city...

first fish of the day was this tournament red 28"

off to a good start....

couple jokes and a couple laughs later i had something pick up my fishbites...

was thinking it was a nice red..

when reeling it in it went past wildman first and i hear him say "Trout! Trout!"

got it to the yak and it was a 25.5" FAT trout!

Finally another solid trout! Been too long!

we had been picking up some drum but it was a slow bite for them so we decided with the now gail force winds to check on a spot i know of that floods with these winds....

when we got there we could see a drum sitting skinny..

made a couple cats but couldnt get it to hit...

made our way down to the location wildman was running on a hour or so of sleep so he was pretty beat and decided to hang back while i checked on a area..

halfway there i see one red...then another red...then another and another and another..

made some casts but there was way too much bait going on and wind wouldnt let me place the spoon right..

from a distance i spot another back away from the bait and saw this as a good chance at one..ran down

yes i RAN down to it wildman thought it was funny but whatever hate that guy

got there and was thinking where the hell is it?

Then 5 feet from me i see something heartstopping!

It was a Trout in the 30" range crawling in 2-3" of water made a cast...perfect...twitched it up..perfect...

heart skipping beats...cast..twitch..Drag! Trophy trout on boys and girls!

Right away *head shake* 10 yards of drag *head shake* 15 yards of drag *head shake* zig zagging around *tail walks* 5 yard run *headshake* and out comes the spoon....

so..devastated...

but i have to say watching a trout of that size fight in inches of water was the SICKEST thing i've ever seen on the water..amazing!

i walked over to see if i could find it again but no go instead i came across a red busting bait in his path ...

cast..twitch..DRAG!

after a good fight i pulled in the red and finally broke in my new LEWS laser MG =)

wildman made me leave the reds to head back so off we go fighting these stupid high winds all the way back to launch NOT fun...

picked up another red on the way in pretty interesting with the wind and chop....

all and all it wasnt a bad trip

made a few trips in may but nothing worth points just puppy drum all over pretty slow...

the take home minus the reds

count was

Drum-9
Trout-2
Reds-4

Now this subject always gets brought up about avoiding a daytime trip with a full moon....dont cancel trips or stay indoors because of a full moon...i know a lot of people who do this and you never know unless you get out there...

on baffin at least ive never noticed a difference, i actually hooked into more fish during the morning and noon then i usually do on a new moon or anyother phase...

Get out there and try it for yourself, the only belief i have of a full moon is the night time bite is effected ...other then that fish all day to your hearts content..its more about knowing where the fish are ...like i said before..you put a lure in front of a redfish the right way hes going to eat it

water level and wind are the only thing i concern myself with and half the time i dont care about winds...

At least i got to fish as much as i wished and still got A's in all my classes not to bad of a deal

Now i leave for el paso and yall will hear from me towards the end of the month =) hopefully ill bring it all together with a super epic report but we shall see....Team Nightstalkers leaving yall with 310 points yall better not slack off while im gone!!!

Until next time yall
Life is good!

Those fish had to be skinny for you to see them in that chocolate mess.
