looks like saturday calls for 2 foot swells, but 15 mph winds hopefully it will lay down...

anyone have an opinion about fishing the rigs during a full moon? would like to get out there, but i seem to have trouble catching fish a few days before and after full moons...

I'd love to get out Saturday, but my students are graduating and I have a 3pm presentation. It kind of kills both ends of the day for BTB. Next week no classes!

He who shall not be mentioned, the last window I caught for BTB was during a full moon, or within a day or so of one, and fishing was good. I expected a very early bite, but it got better later in the morning.

Yea, don't go to the floater. Save your gas money for a new moon.

All kidding aside check this out. I, along with millions of other people, swear by the tidal coeffiecent correlation to active feeding times:

For your third BTB kayak voyage, a few tips:

Fish the afternoon on Saturday.

Troll a diver and a ribbon fish on the way out/back and while looking for bait or birds, drift some ribbonfish, and have a pitch bait ready for a ling(live pinfish hopefully).

If you do anchor up, put out a ribbonfish flatline without a balloon.

Stay hydrated.

And finally, if it doesn't lay down, don't go alone. Take AT with you.

Good luck little buddy!

catch your own....if you really want to spend the time you can fish live shrimp under a poppin cork at sunset at the old boat ramp that the TPWD uses on laguna shores road just beyond the "s" curve close to SPID. catch em everytime.....

p.s. my first experience trolling for kings from a yak was with ribbons for bait......it was awesome, i hope you can get ahold of some

Billings is right down from Clems. Both are under the bridge just north of Marker 37 marina. <*/)))><
