Not familiar with surf fishing but since my wife was ready to spend a day together on beach I brought my pole and had one fish looked like a Spanish mackerel chase my spoon to me.

Last ditch effort I had a package of fish bites so I put on a sinker and as soon as it hit bottom I was reeling in whiting. Caught three and let two go. First time I ate one and it was great!

I'm sure my wife is thinking dang now he will be obsessed with surf and bay fishing. Lol
