I would like to extend a Great Big Thank You to all of you that post on this forum. Just returned to Michigan after 2 months on North Padre Island and the Ideas, Suggestions, Insights and Directions I got from this forum helped a great deal in the success of my fishing while on the island. I also hope you that live there appreciate what you have. I have fished all along the gulf coast and have never had the consistantly good fishing that I had fishing on and from NPI. We spend most of our time on BHP and also fished the Packery Channel and the surf from time to time. Total for the 2 months was 17 different kinds of fish. I think we ate 9 or 10 different species. First time for shark and stingray. I will be chasing Steelhead and Salmon on the piers and beachs of Lake Michigan. The differences are the weather (cold) and when I get a hit I will know that it is a Steelhead or a Salmon. During the 2 months on NPI I never knew that I had ahold of when the hit occured and some times not until I as able to see the fish. Hope to be able to at least carve out the month of March next winter to make another trip down. Hope all of you have great fishing through the year and hope to meet a few more of you when and if I get to come down there again next winter. THANKS GUYS!!!

You are welcome! I love salmon and steelhead so I can relate to your traveling south for the winter and staying put in the summer! Post some salmon and steelhead pictures when you start fishing up there!
