Ok this cold water faucet handle now just spins and won't turn on water. Cartridge broken? Everything below is tight etc. Is this an easy fix or do I need to buy the particular brand tool i.e. Moen to remove the cartridge or to fix it?

| Mine did not need a special tool. I know some models do. I took the handle off, then the stantion/cover thingamajig/chingadera and that revealed a nut. Then I took the nut off, reinstalled the handle and tugged real hard and the cartridge pulled out. Then off to Fugersons. Good luck, google is a friend, there is only a couple of different mown styles"..............cC |

This Is what I do for a living.
You'll most likely need an allen wrench set to get the handle off.
Once the handle comes off you'll needa pair (1) of channel locks
to take off the bonnett nut (should be brass). After you get that off the stem or cartridge should come out. (pulls out,not threaded)
Some are harder than othersto get out due to the extremlly hard water
in Texas. Have worked in 3 other states and never encountered water this hard.
It sounds like your stem is broken. |

| This is a very simple fix. First, line up your allen wrenches. Then, pick up your cell phone and call Carolina Kinger, then have your Visa or Master Card ready. I can't tell you how rewarding it is to help out a fellow poster. |

i do this for a living as well. is it moen? if its another brand for example valley there could also be a cup and spring under the cartridge. if you are replacing the cartridge and you find a rubber cup and spring underneath dig it out and replace it. might as well with the cartridge already off and the packet should include these items. |
