Heard on the news that they might legalize the use of silencers when hunting deer, birds and alligators. Anybody who agrees?

As loud as my wife's AR is with that bull barrel it might be nice just for that reason.

I think the anti gun crowd pictures a bunch of James Bond Ninja types running around dressed in black turtlenecks, and black knit masks using black guns, with silencers terrorizing women and children.

great idea... hearing loss is a real issue from shooting. suppressors are great for recoil reduction and reducing muzzle blast in addition to the noise benefits.

I hope it passes. It would be very beneficial, but like Tyler said people are gunna think of outrageous ways to try and stop it from becoming legal.

Eliminating the need for hearing protection while shooting stuff... nice!

I wonder if it will be legal to put a silencer on my bow? Razz

An interesting link about suppressors- federal regs, history, mechanics etc.

They're really not James Bond 007 quiet. Remember the sound barrier is 1100 feet/sec, and the sonic boom off a bullet makes a pretty loud crack. I don't think subsonic ammo would be very humane.
