Warning: the following report contains a exciting fishing adventure do not read if you are at work or there is a lightning storm outside! A/T is not liable for injuries you receive from attempting to recreate this adventure...unless you catch then its totally my fault

Cant remember the day but it was really really wind and i went out...needless to say it went from 20mph to 40mph FAST!

Bruce claw didnt want to catch and my stake out stick would only pivot me around...

water wanted to come in the bay from the east with winds making its own chop from the south made for rough white cap dishwashing conditions...

BUT...

as always i managed a limit of drum...and then got the hell out of there..

now yesterday!

Mi amigos Robert and Joel came to fish, school have been crazy for all of us so we havent got to fish together much this year....

paddled out around noon i got there about 30 min before them and as i figured the morning bite was slow only had 2 drum in the 30 minutes.

my buddies got there when the winds shifted and i told em to follow me....knew where the fish were

got to the second spot and pulled in a few before i could even get all the lines out...

Joel was beached up and wade fishing when he started waving at me and walking down shoreline with a fish so i beached up to see what its about...

He held up a solid 25" trout and we snapped a quick photo then released it....it was VERY fiesty good to see from a good trout like that...

i paddled back out and pulled up a 26" trout on fishbites that proceeded to smack me with his tail after the KW pic and go back in the water...

no hero pic ..=(

then i had to make a decision...sun going down...our area was in the shadow of it and bite died...told joel and bert we needed to move

my thought was with the water in the shadow it was cooling off already and fish would be around the corner where sun is still hitting the water....got there...casted out...and it was ON!

ran off the rest of our 2 person limit and said ok just one more limit for all 3 of us and 10 minutes later we were paddling back with a 3 person limit...

could have easily gotten another limit for there dad who was with us but a lightning storm showed up and i wasnt out to get hit...again =(..although he did show up with a drum and 20" trout on the stringer..

now my question!

Does anybody else notice that the bite is switching over to shrimp on big trout? im catching a surprising amount of trout on shrimp fishbites and DOA's

Till next time..Life is good

I can just imagine a prehistoric nomadic version of AcousticTennis, padding around in a dugout canou with long unkempt hair (not much a stretch lol), catching drum on some 3000 BC version of fishbites.

Nice trout Man! Oh, and by the way I tried out fishbites like you said. Turns out, trout like crab flavored fishbites! Very Happy I though the drum were supposed to take it. Confused Very Happy
