Thanks for the report Kingz.
I am sure it was all in fun. I don't know if it harms the fish or not but seems like some unnecessary acrobatics for the resource.
I am sure the fish biologists will surely chime in if it is detrimental. Not wanting to start a "popcorn" thread here but I think it may turn into one just by the pics. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Yeah.......I normally really enjoy your posts, but this is a bit ridiculous don't you think? I know, I know....."they're just fish", right? Seems a bit childish just to get a few "cool" pics. To each his own. Not sure if it's the example we should be setting, though. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

Dont see it as much a difference from someone standing in a boat throwing a fish back....not everyone is gentle to the fish _________________

How many of those big Baffin sows do you release with a big heave ho? You really don't see the difference in a drop of a few feet from a boat and throwing a fish as high and far as you can? Maybe you could compare it to a drop from a pier, but a boat? My point was this.....When dropped from a boat or pier, the point is to release the fish. The fish in these pictures were thrown to get a few pictures. I admit, they were released. My question is whether or not we want our youth outdoorsmen thinking that things like that are normal, acceptable, ethical? I'm not going all hippy fish hugger here. Just worried about the message it may be sending. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

LOL! Not to bust Kingz chops but we do influence others. As a kid I think we released fish like that and made it a diving contest trying to get blue gills to do three somersaults before going into the water.
"And the scores on that dive 9.5, 9.0, 9.2, 9.7, and it looks like the Russian judge gave him a 5.0" Boooo Hisss! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

A big heave ho right into the cooler *grabs some popcorn*
lmao JUST KIDDING!
incase your already writing a hate comment its a joke people chill
I grew up on the pier where people throwing the fish back like there trying to bust a bag of ice on the ground (not exaggerated) just because its undersize so pics like this dont bother me as much as others i guess _________________

do away with hooks and just start lassoing them around the tail , no wait that will leave rope burns, well I guess no matter what you do , you are not going to please everyone all the time!!! _________________ Common sense is not COMMON |

It's pretty simple...respect the resource.
A/T...because we have seen or done things in the past does not mean that our growth as sportsmen is stunted. I've thrown fish ...but I won't do it again. |

Not saying i dont respect the fish when i release em, only thrown one fish before, hardhead right after he sunk his 4" spine in between my knuckles...
Not questioning the sportsmanship here just saying a fish falling into the water from a toss like that cant be worse then getting slammed off a pier, or swung while still hooked and slammed on pier or water repeatedly, or skipped like a stone off pier into the water... all im saying
sorry to hijack the thread =D _________________

| When I was a youngster, I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer at the redfish hatchery when I was younger and got to see the whole process of a redfish. From eggs to small finger size fish to foot long out in the ponds. These pics are a bit disturbing to me. Respect the fishary and its residents. Throwing a red 20ft in the air for a picture is really just stupid to me. |
