Bought a but load today with high expectations for me and a buddy. Have a lot left. I put them in a ziploc and into the fridge but they were really good eating size just not sure if they are fine to eat. Most were alive when I pulled them out of the bucket but not all. I threw away any that were obviously croaked. Are they safe to boil up and dip in sauce tomorrow?

That's what i figured but wanted to make sure. Don't want to inadvertently poison my family.

Reminds me of a funny story of when I first moved to the bluff. Went fishing with a colleague and when the cloud of smoke dissipated from around his head he got a case of the munchies. He proceeded to dip into the bait bucket for some of our live shrimp. That being said, I don't think you'll have to worry about poisoning your family.

Typical "winter" bait situation...get a quart of shrimp (when you can) and end up with maybe 30 jumbo's.

Throw plastics all day, go home and eat bacon-wrapped shrimp Smile

Im with IMS.....i sometimes dont even peel them...just pop the heads and down the hatch. Thats another reason i dont fish with live bait anymore..... I eat all the damn bait before the fish get a chance to!!

They're good with ice cream, mashed potatoes, or all by themselves for a quick "pick me up". Very Happy

Of course they taste different cooked. They are sweet little munchies when they are raw. By the way Oysters taste different when cooked also.
