Mary is finally figuring out that in retirement you can do things because you want and not because you have to.

Got up this morning and she decided she wanted to go to the surf. Packed the truck and we were off by 7:30 for SBH. When we got there we were in awe. Wood, trees, branches and weeds all along the water line.

No problemo! Kept driving south until we found cleaner conditions. That happened about 15MM of PINS.

Put out one rod with cut whiting and another with shrimp/fishbites. Caught a few whiting and then the other rod starts to bow. Fish was doing some acrobatics and I bring in this 40" shark.

By now the winds started picking up pretty strong and the grass becomes problematic. My smaller rig then starts working its way down current. Figuring it was loaded with weeds I start reeling it in. To my surprise I catch this bonnetnose on a crab fishbite.

A short while later a little twitch and then nothing. I reel in to check bait and there is some resistance. A double hook up of whiting and another shark.

Left about 12:30 when weeds were a pain. Here are the conditions at that time.

By 1PM the fog started coming in pretty thick and you couldn't see more than a 1/4 mi. down the beach.

Thats awesome....I caught a few of those bonnetheads in the summer. I thought they were good eating. Glad the wife is catching on, that will definitely keep her coming back if you keep that up.
