Tues. after softball practice my friend Steve said that he hadn't run his boat in at least 6 weeks. Being the good friend that I am I told him that he needed to go out Thurs. and that I would accompany him in case something went wrong.
He came by the casa around 8:30, we launched at Bluff landing and headed out. Winds were supposed to be light but when we got on the water it was a 2 drift sock day. Ist drift 3 trout. "All right". After a few drifts we started with the dinks and moved. Next location several more trout. Then the kiss of death. I counted the fish in the chest at 13 and said "only 7 more for a double limit". Next hour and a half not a keeper in the box. Almost called it quits but decided to go back to our first location. Everywhere we fished today was in sight of the casa.
Next drift 3 more trout, along with a double hook up of 20"+. Decided we had to make another drift to make a double limit. What a drift it was. Not only did we fill out our limit we caught, and released, 9 above that including this 20.5" mama.
Came home with 20 trout, 1 sheepie, which will be dinner tonight, and 9 keeper trout released.
