took my daughter into the bay this afternoon when we headed out it was glassy....got a new waterproof camera wanted to try it out...
we found a few trout in the channel and moved off on some deep flats.
gulp caught the most fish...
i was fishing a badonkadonk, got hooked by it (almost barbed)when i watch my daughter flip out of the boat i quickly snatched her out of the water and got her wet clothes off, giving her my jacket. she handled it pretty well as we headed home...another boater gave us a ride home on his boat he had another jacket too, he pulled the jon boat behind his boat. if he is reading this THANK YOU! he gave us two fat keeper trout at 16inches for dinner too...
She had her life jacket on and she held on even as she fell. It was definitely a lesson learned for both of us. She told me she is gonna stay sitting from now on, i am going to add a dry bag on the little aluminum boat with a towel and fleece blanket
here is one of the trout she hooked on gulp new penny
soon as we got home i got her in a hot bath and put a heater close to her....
i have fallen off a few boats before too.... _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/Shark456Bait/featured

I learned this from similar adventures with my old man: All's well that ends well, just don't tell mom! _________________

Tell her what a good sport she is and smile about it saying "Wow remember when you tumped out of the boat? That was awesome how you didn't freak out!" Then later she may marry some crazy guy and you'll have a grandson that wears a dog collar .... Sorry I have been watching too much television. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Kids definitely need life jackets. My son was flipped out of the boat by a 4 foot wake from the infamous "Wahoo Bob" and his 35' boat a few years back. He went in head first and popped up smiling. It was a cold day, so I wrapped him up in my coat and a towel and hauled *ss back to the house.... |

Glad your daughter is ok. What is her name?
When I have my grandkids in the boat, no matter how much they fuss, life jacket stays on!
Hey, Tyler, that dog collar quote was too funny. |

Mister shark bait, I have been reading all your posts and pictures and it is obvious that there is great love in your family. In this day and age there are young people that do not care about their wife and kids and partying and getting high is all that matter. Kudos to you and take it from me they grow up in a flash, the time you spend with her nou will be priceless in years to come |

Good thing the water wasn't freezing cold with a blowing wind and a strong current to boot. Glad she is ok. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Glad that your daughter is fine.
These types of experiences are sobering -- I had one with my daughter.
Perhaps I was confused in reading your story -- why did the boat have to tow you in? Were you having engine trouble on the Jon?
I keep some dry clothing in a vacuum bag in my boat for such cold water or rain soaked mishaps. |

thanks guys for the kind words
Brine, another boat caught up with us on the way home almost in the flour bluff canals he had a another jacket and his boat was faster so it made since to get her home as fast as possible
zia her name is Allyse
my wife and daughter were pretty cool about the whole thing
my fear when it happened was that the badonkadonk i had hooked in my arm was goin to hook her too when i pulled her out. turn a bad situation worse, probably gonna stay away from trebles while fishing with my daughter from now on.... _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/Shark456Bait/featured
