Not sure if this is where this goes, but since we are kinda land locked and havent been able to get to CC since the summer...
I took my wife and daughter fishing last weekend and this is the result...
Being as these are hard economic times for us it was a great couple of meals caught by my girls and me. Some great time with the family and stories to tell for a long long time.
We can thank the creator for all that we have and the guts to get past the times when we have nothing, but get by anyway. |

Nice! Awsome markings on the first bass picture.
Those green fish eat pretty good. _________________

Thanks. I was told by some oldsters from around here that these are Guadalupe River Bass, native to only the Guadalupe River and that they were big for here. They also told me to keep them and eat them as the drought will take most of them by spring anyway. I trust these old guys. They were born and raised here, if they say take'em and eat'em, good enough for me. |

He who shall not be mentioned, i thought spotted bass when I first saw them, but could be guadalupe too. The 'lupes are endemic to TX, and I've seen them close to that size in Gardner state park. They like the swifter running water whereas the largemouth like the stagnant parts. Some great colors on that one in the first pic. |

X2!!
I've eaten plenty of bass in my day & they are good eats!!! Leave the catch & release bass fishing to Bill Dance, Roland Martin, etc... Nice catch of guadalupes, very tasty too.
I used to catch them at lake travis, but rarely bass fish anymore. |

Is that Junkin hole on the North Fork? I grew up in the Mt. Home area, but that looks like Hunt. Either way, we live in an awesome area, if we only had reds, specks, big uglies and what the hell, a few hardheads thrown in to keep us humble. |

Its at the north end of the "New Ingram Dam" just before the first set of rapids near Cade Loop kinda west of the "Dam Store". Be great if we had reds, specks and big uglies. No so sure about the hard heads but what they heck, their fish, the bite and they fight! LOL! |

Awesome, myself, the wife, my sis, and my niece went there about 18 yrs ago or so. (I've gone there numerous times solo). I would throw into the rapids and let my niece reel in the lure (crickhopper) and she had a blast catching smallmouths and guadalupes. Way back in the day, my Dad and I would park at Rio Vista crossing (back when you could) and fish upstream. We once had a cat swim out to our boat. |
