Sitting around drinking my coffee this AM I thought that the PI canals would be a great place to fish. Texted a couple friends; one had to work and the other was a gov. employee that took off from work.

Hit PI canals a little after 10 and not even a bump. Worked the ICW and nothing. Tried the guts off of the ICW and the same result. Tried Pita, the KRS, deep water, shallow water and the same result. My neighbor, whom I was keeping in contact with, had the same result. Came home at 1PM

Am going to Rudy's for some gas and will probably try it again this PM. Can't get totally shut out.

I was out in the kayak from 7am to 1pm... no water in the bay. I kayaked 7 miles throwing soft plastics non-stop. Ended up landing and releasing only 4 Trout... Largest was a 21-22" snake... other were keepers but barely.

Water was kinda dirty too... should turn on a little bit this afternoon... if I didn't break my damn mirage drive again I'd probably go back out just to get some exercise.

It wasn't my fault... I was in 8' of water when it happened. Unless I hit a Whale Shark or the Kraken in the Laguna, it shouldn't be breaking on me.

Austin Canoe and Kayak has all the hobie parts and Wind and Wave have a lot of Ocean Kayak parts.

I only go in Jerry B's if I have to buy an anchor or something.

Seaworthy Marine in rockport/fulton usually stocks the fins and chains. I've not done a whole lot of shopping around, but it seems to me like the prices are the same pretty much everywhere.

Im going to need more than fins and chains. The main holes are getting bigger going to have to replace chigamathing on peddles. Sad
