Reading from another kayak message board that at coon brown harbor on Thursday , a guide came in bragging how he blasted through kayakers. When I used to fish the white river in arkansas in waders. I would have to be mindful not to be to deep when a guide boat was coming. Big wake & buzz right where I was fishing. Some how our true nature comes to the surface once one has got a guide license for the " privilege " of making money on " public" land & waters. We the the pubic now become the enemy. They can save "save their place until their guide friend shows" to keep the pubic from using public waters. It has now become theirs & we are the trespassers. So is becomes their right to buzz kayakers & every one else who doesn't belong to the club. Kinda like the cattle men burning out those sod busters for using the same free land. So shark bait, the attack wasn't personally against you & the person you are. Let the rage & disgrace fall away and love that kiddo of yours, cause you know she will face the same self centeredness.

Fished all day Wednesday with 25 boats and 4-6 kayakers. Lots of moving around with the black drum holed up fairly tight. No problems. Everyone shared the water, moved and anchored up cautiously and had a good day on the water.
Sorry to hear about the jerk on Thursday.

If I'm ever on my boat and see someone buzz a yakker it's going to be whoop-supple bum time. This is becoming entirely too frequent and won't be long before someone gets hurt. I don;t know exactly what the law says about it but kayakers should be given the same lattitude that divers have when they have a dive flag out. Stay safe my friends.

I'll second that and then some. Just like sail boats that are under canvas have the right of way over power boats. Kayakers shoud should also.
Myself, I spent six or seven months in a lazy boy with all the ribs on my left side broken after a run in with a suicidal jet skier back in the '90s. Caused me to be ejected from the bass boat while running 60mph+ so the buzzers best stay clear. I won't mess with any of 'em anymore either.
Just do try to get the TX number off the boats doing this, even if not to you personaly, a tip to TPW can get those "Guide Licences" pulled among other things........

Sometimes those who aren't under gasoline power are the idiots.

I cite an afternoon back in October or Novermber when my son and I were drifing the Backyard. We were at least a quarter mile, probably closer to half a mile, from Laguna Reef. Yet we had two fools on sailboards or whatever they're called cut our drift within 40 yards from us. Not once, but twice.

They could have easily gone behind us but chose not to.
