| My wife wants to go camping one night on the beach at Port A (bucket list) on 12/21 and I just read a post that the tides are coming up to the dunes. Does anybody have any suggestions on how we might get her request accomplished? Thanks Matt |

| Unfortunately full moon is 12/22. You are asking for trouble from tides. You can do it but have to find a slightly higher spot on beach where it looks like water didn't reach (look at previous tide water line) and also may have to pitch a tent in dune area. Not the ideal beach camping experience but do-able. Tidal forecasts not 100% reliable. I also make sure wind is SSE before heading down. Good luck! |

While true, those conditions apply to places mainly south of Port A. The beaches are far wider there, and maintained by the City. There are ample places to camp, and not worry at all about the tides. If it's "to the dunes" in Port A, there is a storm in the Gulf!
Hope she can cross off the bucket-list item. |
