I've been enjoying a run of luck lately. With the cobia and then the huge bulls on Wed and then a good day today.

Decided to go a short way down PINS this morning. Got set up around 7:45 and could not cast up one mullet. I had a baggie of frozen ones so I rigged up with them. Nothing! A little after 8AM a small dead skippie washes in so I cut it in half and put it on one of my rods. At that time Cap't Frankie Eicholz stops by to talk. Funny story. He gets out of his truck and says "when I saw it was you I decided to stop and see how you were doing". I'm looking at him and thinking who the hell is this, when all of a sudden I recognize him. Frankie and I go way back to when I first moved to CC and we played softball together. Well we visited for a while and as soon as he starts his truck to leave my rod starts twitching, and then bends over. I tried to get his attention but he was on his way. I pulled in the nice FAT 39" red.

I put on the other half of the skipjack and put it out. At this point mudmauler stops by to say hi. No sooner than he leaves my rod goes off again. I bring in a 37" red this time. I'm now hoping that more people stop to talk.lol

Out of skippies, I put dead mullet on one rod. On the other I put a double drop rig I made and baited it with a ghost shrimp gulp and fishbites in hopes of catching skips or whiting. Nothing on either.

I packed up and started heading a little further south when I see another skippie wash in. I go back to where I was and set up again and catch a 25" red. All of a sudden my nose starts running real bad and I begin coughing quite a bit. With nothing else biting I called it a day.

The water wasn't too bad as far as color and roughness. The wind was a constant 15-20 out of the north all morning. It was a jacket and waders day.
