Drove straight to MP 33 where I did so well Sunday and found the hole occupied. Drove another mile south and managed only a croaker. Wound up just beyond the 35 marker. Could bareky get to the second gut throwing into 15 mph ESE wind, so I began fishing the far side of the first gut. Boxed 4 small pomps, 10 whiting, 1 bluefish, and 2 reds. All on Fishn'Strips & fresh dead shrimp purchased at Clem's. Billings hadn't any this Sunday or today..

Driving was fair to rough, especially in Big Shell. In the 2WD zone there were fresh dead hardheads just washing in. From the pavement through Little Shell and perhaps as far as MP 20, the red tide aerosol made you cough within seconds of exiting the car. It played Hob with me on the way back because the engine was running hot and I had to open the windows while blasting away with the heater. Stopped a couple of times and turned into the wind. Was doing that when 3 guys from Austin rolled up in a Tundra and got stuck right next to me. Helped push them loose and followed them back up the beach. Must have been good karma because I made it back with only moderate overheating through some of the worst ruts in Big Shell.

Water was clear, with a little weed here and there, especially in Little Shell. Waves about waist high, current strong going north. Did not see any finger mullet, but it was very overcast and made it hard to see.
