Will he really break-up his property or just maybe say bollards aren't such a bad idea after all.

Need to keep an eye on someone that engages in extortion on the scale that he attempted. Land developers have a long history of shady dealings.
And they say they weren't stealing our beach.

Local elections coming up next year...what to do with those who aided and abetted?

We have to keep up the fight. Shecks-whatever will do the same thing he has always done. He is only trying to increase the value of the property and then sell it. It is a no brainer. Keep up the fight. We have just began.

Keep and eye on the beachs to the south. The packery delelopment will go on with bullards we just need to be ready for how much of the jetty park area we are going to lose.

I believe jl7 is absolutely correct in his assessment that Shecks was only trying to increase the value of his property to sell it.
I have seen a developer make a lot of promises about a subdivision, start selling the lots and then sell his interest in the subdivision to his brother. When everyone complained about the promises not being fulfilled the brother's answer was that he had promised them nothing. Since it was not in writing anywhere, the promises were unenforceable.
What I have seen about the Packery resort is about the same: a lot of talk and speculation but nothing written down and circulated ie. empty promises. If he had gotten what he wanted there was no guarantee he would have developed the land. He could instead have sold out for a bigger profit. Then if he ever came back to start another development claim he was not responsible for whatever was built at Packery.
If he is unwilling to work with the people of Corpus I hope he sells out to a developer that will deal honestly and with integrity.

Clearly the vote showed how out of the touch the city council was with their constituents. Now the mayor is calling to get everyone together to salvage the project. I'm sure if the vote had gone the other way we all would have been told to go pound sand. I would guess there will be a rush to get a deal done before April because afterall there is only a payday when you are currently sitting on the council. This vote was also a NO CONFIDENCE vote of the city council. I may suggest any action should happen after the April elections when we have a city council that can demonstrate they represent their constituents.
