Hey guys first time posting on this site, love it by the way. I have lived in Corpus for a almost two years. I had to miss last winters fishing due to a deployment to Iraq. I was just wondering where is a good place to catch reds this time of year, and on what bait? Either from the shore or wading. Thanks for any help I can get

Check out http://lagunafishing.com and click on maps. When viewing a map, on the right side under the spots search for redfish, Nov and good or excellent. Should set you up with quite a few spots.

Sam, your website is excellent and your taking time to render advice pretty much is in character for all who post here. Truly is the best fishing bulletin board I've visited. Congrats, Tyler, on hosting a great crew here.

This time of year the redfish tend to school up and start heading to the gulf. There should be reports soon of bull reds running in the surf. I don't fish the beach but I am sure some of the others on this site can help you out with how to target reds in the surf. My understanding is that the reds will be following the mullet so cast net some mullet to use live. Also the reds will be gathering around the passes to the gulf so fishing from Charlie's pasture should put you on some reds. The new Packery Channel should be an excellent place to target reds this time of year also. I have been told that if you have a boat and work the edge of the ICW channel you should be able to locate schools of reds this time of year. This information doesn't give you a spot, but more a method for locating reds this time of year. Also if you have access to a boat, fishing under working birds may put you on a school of reds or trout.
Good luck!
