Latest word from Ranger Buzz
"I spoke to Wade Stablein this morning regarding what they encountered in the way of red tide effects on the trip down and back from Mansfield Channel yesterday. He reported encountering moderate levels of aerosols from the 30 south with a strengthening as you approached the channel (especially the last half mile). His estimate on the fish kill at the channel was one fish approximately every twenty feet, so not too bad - yet.
Wade also said that you can detect the aerosol all the way up to the twenty as well but so far it's still relatively light.
They were able to collect water samples and those have been sent to TPWD.
Wade said he's uncertain when they will get the results of the analysis back and that it's dependent on how many samples need analyzing. Once we get the latest algae per ML readings back I'll forward it to you." _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

just got back from PINS. talked to some people who came from down beach and they said the red tide was making people cough as far north as the 15 - 20mm and people from down near the jetty were heading north because of it.
i didnt go much further than the begining of south beach and it wasn't a problem there. |

| Hello everyone long time lurker that finally decided to jump in. I've been watching all the reports of red tide and it has me a little concerned as I have a trip to Port A coming up the 19-23. If there is a good rainfall from this weekends storm will it flush this out or slow the spread? Thanks and what a great forum ya'll have here. |

Welcome to the board Sycko! Great to have some more West Texas company on the board.
Where in the Port A area were you planning to fish? Hopefully if it makes it that far up the coast, it won't go into the bays. |

| we are planning on hitting the surf somewhere around port a prolly st jo and want to get in some wade fishing too wherever we can find a spot that looks good. Thanks for the heads up about it not getting in the bays. i didn't know that and I'm not familiar with red tide at all. I fish the port a area several times a year...mostly offshore and this is my first fall inshore/inshore trip in many years. |

| we went overnight to pins at the 7mm looking for reds , found lots of mullet, however we ran into the red tide about 9:00 am today (saturday)....it would come and go but you could definitely see it in the 2nd gut....got the usual sinus, coughing, and waterey eyes....by 1:30 we called it quits.....it was driving me nuts.....on the way out right by the blacktop we saw a dude pulling in a nice sized red.....I didn't see any red tide from the 3.5 or so to the blacktop.....strangely though, there were alot of folks that stayed to fish in that stuff...... |
