I got selected for Chief this year. I was starting to wonder if I would ever advance. I haven't been pinned yet, that is on the 16th so we are still in induction season. I just wanted to give you guys an update.
Sorry I didn't get much time to catch up when I was home. It was a short visit because I had to catch the ship for another cruise. Back to back sea duty can be tough at times. I do hope to catch up in the spring or whenever the next time I can make it home happens to be. Just save me one 30" trout, tight lines

Congrats! Now for the Hazing!!!!!
Be a working Chief so your men will respect you and not just your rank!!!!!
Worked for many Chiefs and only respected a few. |

I hope to earn the respect of my people. I am not one to sit behind a computer much longer than I have to. I like to teach and mentor too much for that so hopefully they will see the difference when it's tough love that they need as well as the hands on teaching. Thanks to all for the congrats. I can't tell you how much of an achievement it is for me, it's the highlight of my career for sure and one of the best times of my life. Just to give you an idea, it ranks right up there with getting married and the births of my two daughters. _________________ still chasing my 30" trout |

nah, Marcus, I knew you were made of the "right stuff" when we came across you the first time. you were wading in chest deep water, towing your boat against the current at the edge of the ICWW a good mile from the launch, as the sun was going down, and still had to cross several channels.
we pulled up and asked if you needed help, you just smiled and waved us on like it was nothing for you to swim your boat back all the way to clems and onto the trailer.
we knew we had come across someone determined. or too proud to cry uncle. ha!
look us up next time. you know you can always draw a crowd at Stan's garage when you come in town.

Way to go, Marcus! Just got off the phone with son, Bryan who is on a 7 month deployment. He was in Malaysia and talked about eating bamboo root, jack fruit and stewed rat. Good times! |

| My father was a Chief Postal Clerk in WW2. I retired as a CDR in the Navy Supply Corps. Dad's advice to me before I got my commission - Officers run Chiefs, Chiefs run the Navy!!! |

I seen a few chiefs run officers, but they deserved it. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Yes he is on the Stennis, he's an ABF doing fuel quality assurance. He was working on the deck fueling aircraft previously. Keep and eye on him for us. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |
