Louis lives, guides, fishes and duck hunts out of the Palacios area. Lately they have been hitting the surf bringing in nice trout. Sat. on such a trip, mostly wading, he hooks this beauty on his trout rig. Took 40 min. to bring it in and I know for a fact he uses mono. He sent this to me via his phone. Said it measured 4 1/2 ft.

Great job landing that one on a trout rig. Are you sure that picture was taken in the surf? _________________ E Pluribus Unum |

Yeah..................... looks like land in the background, WAY off.................... that and the lack of any wave action whatsoever sure looks like inland waters. Looks like a beautiful algae bloom too!!!! Great for the food chain! _________________ Dave

Jelly, good catch, I'll ask. I assumed cause that's where he's been lately.
Okay, that was the So. shoreline. They were wading and trowing croaker when he thinks it went for a trout. Hooked in the corner of the mouth on 12# mono. |

Uncle D, neat gig for your bud!
Never can tell who can catch as catch can with 12lb mono until they smile for the picture.
Nice picture!
