If he has an accident with it or it breaks down, who is going to pay? Guess its up to you, its your boat.

I have lent my boat out numerous times to friends. But only friends that I know are boaters.... not just weekend boaters... I have only had one minor problem lending it out to my neighbor... he somehow managed to lose my stern rope and replaced it with a crap ski rope... Not the 20.00 nice rope it had... Oh well.

If it is a good friend whom you know is a boater and they are honest then lend it to them... If they cannot afford to fix something they break then... If the lower unit blows that wouldnt be there fault unless they hit something...

I have blown a friends power head before!!! Totally my fault. I was wakeboarding with 4 friends in Florida and someone stepped on the neoprene oil injection fitting and I heard the horn so I went the 2 miles home intermittently cooling it off. I never imagined it wasnt getting oil....

2000.00!!!!! I rightfully paid every penny. Although it did take me 6 months to make the money I was only like 16...

I basically learned to run bigger boats by borrowing peoples boats. Only had that one problem. I usually borrowed my neighbors 35 contender!!! it was an awesome boat!

That's what my Dad told me about loaning (guns in this case). I'd as soon loan out the wife, not gonna happen. I tried to get my dive buddies to take my boat out once when I couldn't go but they declined. I think they have put enough work and funds into it to deserve it though. You have to decide. Do they help with your boat or take you fishing on their boat often. It may be you some day looking for a loaner. The easiest solution would be to take him fishing.

The fact that ur having to ask this says that u dnt really trust this friend, but dnt blame u i have only 1 friend that i loan my truck to, been friends for 25 yrs but saying that i have insurance on the truck and he is a cop can afford to replace it. Do you have insurance on it can and would he replace it. I never lend money to any friends thats the easiest way of losing a friend ship whn they dnt pay back. If you decide not to shouldnt be a big deal if he is your friend thats kind of asking to borrow your woman takes alot of balls to ask that. Dnt know if this helped at all but let me know if it did.

Three things you don't lend out in life......your gun, your horse, and your wife.

Don't even ask, and we will stay friends. Well there is one person that I would lend my boat to. Infact he could borrow anything I have.

If he can afford to replace it and will if he sinks it then I wouldn't worry about it.but if he can't the answer is always no.

just depends who it is.

it's just a boat... insurance covers most things, and if they break something, their chekbook would fix anything else.

Thanks for the responses. This has been a hard decision to make. Since the wife is the head of the house and she says NO, I am going to listen and see if the friendship remains.
