Last Friday me and two buddies headed out to the 3.5 mile rigs down PINS on our kayaks. Water was crystal clear and calm...looked like Florida. We all had our limits of snapper...a few kings....and one of my buddies even managed to land a chicken dolphin!

Nice job!! I took my boat from Packery to that rig and loaded up pretty well last week. THe snapper were thick at the time!!! I shot one big one there!

Thanks! It was a cool experience but one hell of a kayak. My buddy with the Mahi said he can die happy now haha.

pretty sure i watched you paddle out there (i was at the beach)nice catch and stay safe it would be a long way back swimming...

Wow! Captain Billy reported seeing a mahi in the surf a couple of summers ago. Seems like it was right before Dolly hit when the water was drop dead gorgeous. I recall someone catching one on a fly in the lower Laguna around that time too!
