while trolling looking for reds/drum in yarbrough yesterday we came upon this floating trout which we thought was dead. After pulling up to it in 3' of water i noticed its tail was moving. After it went under 4 times and many yards later i was able to finally reach over the boat and grab it. This was a first for me.

I heard that they were going to legalize noodling for catfish in fresh water, never heard anything about noodling for specks??????

Same scenario was experienced by a friend of mine but Game Warden was just a few yards away. Friend ended up with a hefty fine for not "catching" the trout with a reel and rod.

that's awesome, yea gotta love the warden's that would have the nerve to write a man a ticket for grabbing a fish like that, just to be safe say you hooked it and reeled it in. Awesome pics

The trout in my photo here had a 13 1/2 speck in it's gullet with part of the tail still sticking out. At first I thought it was two fish in it's gullet, but it turned out that it was just one with it's tail folded over to make it appear like it was two fish. Why it would be so greedy as to strike my Broken Back is beyond me. Not that I'm complaining.

I would understand with a croaker because they say that it is natural instinct for a speck to eat one, full or not. But a mullet?
