Has anyone ever had any problems or concerns with Abu Garcia products? Back in June I purchased a Spinning Reel combo on-line and was super excited when it finally came in. I got even more excited when I finally had the chance to take it out to the lake with my dad and put it to use only to find out that it was broke. It seemed that the rod blank was loose or something but my rod could actually spin 360 degrees. I contacted the company and they said to send it back with $9.95 postage for them to return it when it was fixed. Initially I was a little hesitant about giving them any money since it was their product that was damaged and I hadn't even used it yet, but I did. So $9.95 for return postage plus $10.00 to ship it to them. Well, I waited patiently and finally received it in the mail today. I was having a GREAT day and seeing that package only added to it, untill I opened it and realized that this one was broken too! The rod was pretty much broke about 6 inches above reel and is barely hanging on. By the time I received it, it was already too late to call them so it will have to wait till tomorrow. They better hope they don't tell me to send them ANOTHER $9.95 return postage plus what I have to pay to send it away again. That would be $40.00 on postage for a darn rod and reel that I haven't even been able to get wet!
Anyways, just trying to see if I'm just having a little bad luck with them right now or see if other people have had the same issues. I'm tempted to take my money elsewhere. |

Are you ordering directly from Abu(Pure Fishing), or another on-line retailer? _________________ E Pluribus Unum |

| Your best bet IMO would be to file a claim with whoever the shipping company is. Garcia really doesn't have much control over the gorillas that handle the package once it leaves the building. I had an old cheaper Garcia bait cast rod years ago. I beat it kicked it and lied to it. It was one of my faves till someone decided they needed it worse than I did! |
