Thanks for that cool pic. That tarpon is huge. I heard that was a common occurance to catch tarpon and sawfish off of BHP back in the day. _________________ When the going gets tough, the tough go fishing... |

I went to bob hall on Wednesday and a man was in the same place as you are in the pic and he lost a medium size tarpon. _________________ "Early to bed... Early to rise... Fish all day... Tell big lies" |

| I remember it well. I was 8 yrs old at that time. Big crowds, lots of tangled lines. Great burgers at the snack bar. Fresh bait shrimp. We'd take 281 south from San Antonio, then it would split to Hwy 9. Locals help me out. Back then, would Hwy 9 merge into Leopard Street in CC? |

It was like that all the time in the summer back then. If memory serves, the pier had a sign that said it was 1400 ft long. I am not sure what its length is now, but it ain't near that long. Horace Caldwell was even longer by 200 ft I believe. I learned how to fish on that pier. I loved it back then. |
