from our bird feeders with a bb gun..........
What shocked me was "daddy" was right there with him giggling and egging the little twerp along!!!!
Daddy.... teaching that kid real "sportsmanship"
I literally physically jumped the fence and told "daddy" and kid, caught in the act
"He kills it, he eats it"

That's something that raises my temperature in a flash! Lot's of it going on and their parents really are ignorant. "Oh, Johnny is just shooting sparrows" or "We hate woodpeckers and shoot everyone we see". It's amazing how many folks will tell you their kid shot a sparrow with "red" all over it.

Man, I feel a rant coming on. I'll just leave it at...We shoot guns in this family, but BB guns have no place in a young man's recreational life.

I cant emagine growing up without a BB gun, I killed so many red ants it aint funny. Occasional sparrow and blackbird to, Plus the transformer on the power pole about a million times, that resulted in a unexpected beating from my dad when the bottom rusted out years later.

I didnt live in town, I didnt shoot at other kids, and was taught gun safety from an early age.

My old man even kept my old red rider, that I thought was long gone, but gave it to me when I was older and had kids of my own. Really cool to have now, its beat to crap but brings back memories.

i agree, every kid should start with a bb gun. i dont thnk i can count how many things with a pulse i killed...but i never shot at animals in the neighbors yard...thats a little funny actually.

my dad would say from time to time "you kill it, you eat it"..but i never did. then one day when i was all growd up and a little buzzed, i shot a grackle and his voice went off inside my head....so i gobbled it up....DONT EVER DO THAT...nasty

Grandpa next door purchased his 4 grandkids each a nifty bb rifle about a year back, I came home one afternoon to find all 4 of them on the roof shooting everywhere, my yard, the school yard and so on. I saw one of them pick off a small bird in my yard so I put a stop to it. They all started mouthing off so told them to go get grandpa to which they replied, he told us we could.

I live in the city...

Just call the game warden. He will teach them a lesson that they will never forget. It will actually do them a favor especially years down the line. Wink

i grew up on a ranch blasting everything in sight with a bb gun that turned into a 22long rifle pretty quick. Kids can be taught responsible gun safety BUT this is up to the parents to teach their kids. I believe the autobahn society protects certain taxes species
