Woke up at 4am to get boat ready and go offshore. Checked NOAA buoy and it said 3.9 and 4.3 feet. THe past three days have been flat and now crap!!! At least I got out once and slayed them. I dont think killing the fish gave me my fix, I think it made it WORSE! I want MORE!!!!!

I would go to the 8 miles in 4-6 but not 35 miles in 4 it is not that comfortable.

a 1994 boston whaler outrage. it doesnt have trim tabs so in 4ft I have to go pretty slow and I am not running 35 miles off at 15 mph. It will go 30mph through the 4 footers but the boat would get beat to death.

Everyone should look after thier equipment that way.Reminds me of a charter I took several years ago. The captain knew 2 speeds, stop and full throtle. The boat was a 28 ft. cernter console with 3 225's on the back. The seas were 4-6 ft. and when we would hit the swells the RPM"s from the engines sound like it doubled. If that was a everyday occurance that was 1 tough boat.

BW make a hell of a good tough boat. I fished out of them all over the gulf just not the best ride in the world. but they will be floating when others are on the bottom.

How big of an outrage is it????

Watch this site and watch the trends for the past several hours. Wake up like you are going to come here to fish and if it sucks then go back to bed!!!!!! That is what I do. Have everything ready or wake up a bit earlier check it and if good load the boat.

I hope it lays down but according to the trends for the day it looks grim. But it only takes a few hours to lay down and 10 minutes to pick up!!!!
GOOD LUCK. I will try to be out every calm day this month with the exception of Wednesdays.

I've been using this site for wind predictions for some time now and it has been very good...

Yeah Saturday was a lot different. We went out Thursday and it was eerie..... No wind and 0-1 foot swells until about 5pm. Then it kicked up to a nice 2-3 foot following sea on the way home. Very good day on the water.

Got a limit of snapper pretty quick with a great crew. I think a report is pending from my fishing buddy.

Regardless we are staring at a week of 2-3s. That is a whole world of difference from the last 4 months. Hope to get out as much as possible during the short snapper season before we start mahi hunting.....I love this time of year. The adventure season is just getting started!!!!

I have been using this long range forecast. Pretty accurate short term, and decent long term. And works great on my phone.
