MY wife And I went to the PINS last weekend and the drive down the beach was the worst I have seen, the tide was so high that we had to drive in water part of the time. We finally made our way to about the 17's after about 3 hrs.
We tried to keep line out but weed would drag them in. at about 4 in the afternoon the tide was going out and the weeds where light and could fish. My wife caught some whiting and I waded out to the back of the first gut and cast out to the second gut for some sharks. After about 30 to 40 minutes we get our first run it heads straight out shaking it head then the line go slack. I reel it in to find the leader bitten in two. I fight the big waves back out and get another run this time it heads down the beach only to spit the hook after 20 minute fight so I put bait on it again and finally landed a 4 foot black tip. By now it is getting late so we load up and hit the key to find the battery is dead.
we had been there all day and only seen to trucks leaving. I look down the beach and see head lights. They stop and ask if they could help but they did not have any cables. They drove down the beach about 3 mile to the next camp and borrowed some cables. I cant thank them enough. Thanks to Josh and Lauren from San Antonio. What could have turned in to a long night only made us some new friends. |

Good deal! When it is like that we normally turn around. Weed is one thing there is always fun stuff to do but high water is something else. Glad you all got off safely and made new friends. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

| It sound like a ruff day out there. I'm glad you got some help. Congrats on the shark, they mean more when you have to work for them. |

I talk to people that help us on Sunday night and ask him how they did Saturday night and he told me while he was making dinner on the other side of there truck his wife herd a thud and when he ran around his truck his rod was gone. I told him I was sorry to here that and told him I have a new 114 Penn he can have. They wouldn't let me pay them for there help so this is the least I could do and also thanks to the campers who had the cables. _________________ Life is good on the beach. |

Hey man how are things!
I almost cancelled that trip so many times due to the bad reports and we packed up really late on Saturday to get out of SA. After we got you started and watched yall drive away I told my wife sometimes these trips have nothing to do with fishing and being able to help someone out makes the whole thing worth while.
I still don't have a front hitch on my new truck yet, but I'll throw my cooler rack and rod holders on my back hitch and use those rod holders so I won't lose any more rods. I'll also be transferring my jumper cables, tow straps, and all the other misc gear that I'd left in my old truck as I learned my lesson not having a bunch of stuff with us that trip. I don't ever want to use a PVC holder again. What's strange is I've set out tons of rods in PVC holders like that and seen them handle some screaming runs without any problems, not sure why that one fell over. _________________ JJ |

Hey they're Monkey Gloves, get it right!
They are uglier than anything I've ever seen before, but they make for the best beach shoes ever!
