Pulled in to wilsons cut at about 4:50 this evening and only saw one trailer. got about 300 yards from the ramp and saw a (90's body style) extended cab gold chevy drive off by the other truck and jokingly said I bet they just robbed that other truck. We go about getting ready to launch and I see the other trucks window is down so we get closer and I saw broken glass... Called cops gave them a description 90's GOLD CHEVROLET, EXTENDED CAB WITH A DENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FROM THE EXTENDED CAB BACK TO ABOUT MIDWAY ON THE BED, 2WD, TINTED WINDOWS, BLACK TOOL BOX, EITHER A YELLOW 5 GALLON BUCKET OR IGLOO DRINKING JUG IN THE BACK, 2 HISPANIC MALES HEADED TOWARDS PORT AT AT 4:50.

Found the unlucky owners and gave them the bad news. Cop called me back and said they owners lost 2 rod/reels, and a bunch of 18v dewalt tools for grand total of $1000.

DONT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR TRUCK AT WILSONS CUT, AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE GOLD TRUCK.

Thanks for being a good Samaritan. I really hesitate going to Shamrock for that reason.

I still think a blind, 2 bag limit per person with a bonus tag at Wilsons, Oso and Bird Island would cull the break-in problems. Very Happy

Its sad that this is still going on. I remember this was going on here many years ago. If I don't see very many people there, I dont put the boat in. This area is too isolated during off-times of the year.

I've seen trucks scouting vehicles at Wilsons before. The last time I put in out there I saw a maroon truck with 2 guys passing back and forth by my truck and a few others. However I think that if you go out early you will avoid the dumb asses since they seem to wait until afternoon when their drugs have worn off from the night before.

This could be avoided if people didn't leave so many valuables in their vehicles. Corpus is not a small, trustful town anymore,,, we have crackheads everywhere.

Yeah I went out there yesterday even after hearing about this report. All I could think was "if they want to break in this truck, they aren't going to find much". Ended up bringing back 2 reds and a trout for the table. Almost had my limit on reds but was half an inch short... The wind was unreal, but when dusk hit it was on.

I say we bait them with some nice merchanise left in the front seat of a vehicle. Sit back a few hundred yards (sniper style) with a flat shooting trajectory rifle. Shoot their tires out after the crime is committed, then call the police to apprehend the thieves. It would be unfortunate if a bullet ricochets off the wheel and hits one of the trashy bastages.

This really sucks. When I lived in Fal, I'd just park my beater there without any worries. Now that I visit from Houston with my family, there's no way I'm parking my "1st string" vehicle out there.

We put in there yesterday as well, could not stop thinking about my truck the entire time we were fishing.

Its a shame we can't leave our property alone for a few hours without some creeten robbing us.

Kinda took the fun out of the day.

I here ya bout the winds, that was why we chose Shamrock, looking to stay out of the winds.
