Well I just submitted the following letter to the editor, hope it gets printed before the election. I ran out of words, limit 200 or I would have mentioned that the city officials seem to be trying to grow the city by fertilizing the citizens.

Who's telling the truth? I find it hard to believe that a 1.5 billion dollar resort is on such a shaky foundation that its existence hinges upon the city's plan to ban vehicles on a 7,200 feet stretch of Padre Island beach from the south jetty to Padre Balli Park. How can it be that there are no other solutions to allow both the resort and vehicle access? Another thing that strikes me as odd is the last line of Charter amendment #1"The ordinance effecting the creation of a public pedestrian-safe beach is not subject to initiative or referendum." Can it be that city needs to permanently protect a free gift of a private beach when the truth comes out, after the election?
When communicating in person eye contact can indicate truth or lies. In writing using euphemisms like “pedestrian friendly”, that requires a definition; instead of “vehicle ban”, which is easily understood, tells me who’s lying. I believe we can have both world class resorts and vehicle access; it does not have to be one or the other.

Great LTTE and right on point. I loved the trying to grow the City by fertilizing the citizens.
I would like to see the resort or a resort just not one that forces restricted access to the locals and non paying guests on public property.
