|
|
| New to the forum, Just had a question about Fly Line pertaining to surf fishing, what type is considered the best to use. I have tried my standard floating double tapered line but doesn't seem to work very good in surf conditions. I was thinking some sort of sinking or heavy tipped line really new to fly fishing, Thanks for the suggestions |

If you want to use a floating line try a WF taper it will cast the heavy/large flies much better. However an intermediate tip or a full intermediate line is better suited for the surf gets your fly line down just below the surface so the wave action has less of an issue. Some good lines to check out are (Floating) Rio Redfish or Clouser Taper. (Intermediate (full/tip)) Rio Outbound or Outbound Short. The Outbound tapers have a heavier front taper which allows for easier casting with large flies and into wind. They also help with getting more distance which is a huge plus in the surf! _________________ V/R,
