Last Thurs. at an environmental law class at TAMUCC, a man by the name of Gene (no last name, sorry but got this story second hand) gave a presentation to a group of PhD candidates. From the students I talked with, you could smell the dishonesty coming off this guy. His presentation was on why the beach should be closed. By the way, he's in real estate himself so he will obviously benefit financially. He did finally admit that this is not really a safety issue, but more an issue of economic development for the city and its citizens. When asked how 2,000 minimum wage jobs will help the citizens of CC he was unable to give an answer and instead chose to beat around the bush. I know that everyone in the room was able to see through his guise, but I can also see how some people could be scammed by these guys. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

Gene Guernsey, real estate and self promotion are his interests!!!!!!! Been around the guy before, he should be selling used cars. Curious as to how a real state agent winds up speaking to PhD candidates??? _________________ Later,

I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall as he tried to put one over on a group of very well educated individuals. That's the beauty of doctoral students, by their very nature they are inquisitve or they would not be that far along in the educational process. _________________ Later,

mibob is now a registered voter here in Corpus Christi, Texas and will vote noooooooooooooooooooooooooo on #1 and yessssssssssssssssssssssssss on #2.
if the city has nothing to hide, why do they need to insure that we the people will never want to question what they do. WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO RETAKE OWNERSHIP OF OUR COUNTRY, STATE & CITY from the politicans and their cohorts. _________________ ccbobber |

Trust me Mibob, we all feel your pain and have the same basic set of questions. Greed is an afflicition that unforunately affects even those sworn to uphold the virtues of society. My general feeling is that most politicans, not all, think their constituents are a bunch of morons. There's too much of a sense of "self" in our local politics and not enough "For the greater good". It's been this way as long as I have been around C.C. Politics is a shady business for some and when they get in bed with people who can gain from their decisions, it really gets ugly. _________________ Later,
