Just registered to this forum. I enjoy reading the posts and comments, as well as getting the fishing reports. Great group and great site. I read a recent article that prompted me to go to e-bay, where I bought a Abu Garcia 6500 C3 for a great price. Thanks. I also have a Penn 965 and now both, for baitcasting. My question is, for mainly specks and reds in the surf, what type/model rod do you suggest? How about the length? I hear it's just as important, (next to the knot you tie), as the reel itself. Thanks for the help.
